The Â鶹¹ÙÍø Dartmouth Alumni Association will recognize alumni and members of the Â鶹¹ÙÍøD community for their achievements and service to the community and University at the 48th Annual Alumni Awards Ceremony on Thursday, April 25 at 6:00 p.m. in Woodland Commons. This year's honorees include three alumni and the new Blue & Gold Legacy Award given to a member of the community. 

Â鶹¹ÙÍøD Alumni Award Recipients

Alumni Achievement Award: Joseph W. Augustyn ’69

The Alumni Achievement Award recognizes a Â鶹¹ÙÍø Dartmouth graduate who, because of distinguished stature in a chosen profession, has attained great respect, had a strong impact on his or her field and enhanced the reputation of the University. Joseph Augustyn '69 is honored for his distinguished career achievements in homeland security and intelligence and dedication to Â鶹¹ÙÍø Dartmouth. He is executive vice president of Jefferson Waterman International and the president of its subsidiary Crosshatch International. His long career with the CIA’s National Clandestine Service included senior positions as chief of station, chief of staff for the CIA’s Deputy Director for Operations, deputy division chief for the CIA’s East Asia Division, and after 9/11 as deputy associate director of Central Intelligence for Homeland Security

Alumni Volunteer Service Award: Jennifer Granger Sullivan ’05

The Alumni Volunteer Service Award is given to a graduate in recognition of loyal, unselfish, and consistent service to the Â鶹¹ÙÍø Dartmouth and the Alumni Association. Jennifer Granger Sullivan '05 has given nearly a decade of service to Â鶹¹ÙÍø Dartmouth as both a past president and at-large member of the Alumni Association Board.

Rising Star Alumni Award: Elisabeth Spinnato ’06

The Rising Star Alumni Award celebrates the accomplishments of a Â鶹¹ÙÍøD graduate of the last 10-15 years whose exceptional achievements in career, public service, or volunteer activities bring honor to Â鶹¹ÙÍø Dartmouth. In recognition of her accomplishments in her career in media, Elisabeth Spinnato '06 is recognized as a "rising star" among Â鶹¹ÙÍøD alumni. She is director for digital strategy at WE Communications and teaches at Columbia University in a graduate program.

Blue & Gold Legacy Award: Rev. Dr. Robert P. Lawrence

Reverend Dr. Robert P. Lawrence will posthumously receive the inaugural Blue & Gold Legacy Award for his commitment to Â鶹¹ÙÍøD and the community, with his wife, Elizabeth L. Duffy, accepting on his behalf. Rev. Lawrence was an inspiration to Â鶹¹ÙÍø Dartmouth and our community for many years as our spiritial leader. He received an honorary degree from Â鶹¹ÙÍøD in 2007. The Blue & Gold Legacy Award was established this year by the Alumni Association to honor an individual who is not a graduate of Â鶹¹ÙÍø Dartmouth or its predecessor institutions, but who is recognized for exceptional career accomplishments or service to Â鶹¹ÙÍøD and the community at large.
