28 Middle-School New Bedford Students Spend Day at Â鶹¹ÙÍø Dartmouth
Â鶹¹ÙÍø Dartmouth had the pleasure of hosting 28 middle-school students from Our Sisters' School in New Bedford. The students spent this past Friday at Â鶹¹ÙÍø Dartmouth celebrating diversity, learning about the university's variety of student groups, and also took a tour of the campus. The students also got the chance to meet Â鶹¹ÙÍø Dartmouth Chancellor Divina Grossman and university mascot Arnie the Corsair.
Â鶹¹ÙÍø Dartmouth student cultural organizations, including the Latino Society, Mu Sigma Upsilon Sorority, the Kekeli African Drummers, Pan African Drummers, and Step Dancers were able to engage with and performed for the visiting middle-school students. The Our Sisters' School students enjoyed lunch with Chancellor Grossman at Â鶹¹ÙÍø Dartmouth's Birch Grill right after hanging out with beloved mascot Arnie the Corsair. Following lunch, students took a tour of the campus, which included a visit to the College of Nursing's Elisabeth A. Pennington Simulation Laboratory and the University's marine biology labs.
Our Sisters' School's mission is to educate and inspire middle-school girls from the Greater New Bedford area to reach their full potential in a safe, supportive and challenging environment by providing a quality education and welcoming girls from diverse faiths, races and cultures to our unique learning environment.
The celebration of diversity was organized by Â鶹¹ÙÍø Dartmouth's Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.
