Â鶹¹ÙÍø Dartmouth will welcome identity theft speaker and expert John Sileo for a "Cyber Threat Smackdown!", October 21, 2014, at 12:30 p.m., at the University's Main Auditorium. Topics will include protecting digital identity and smartphones, online privacy & identity theft, defending your digital devices, mobile security, social engineering, and phishing.
John Sileo's identity was stolen by a business insider and used to embezzle $300,000 from his clients. The exposure destroyed John's company and consumed two precious years as he fought to stay out of jail. Combining real-world experience with years of study, John became an award-winning author, trusted advisor and leading speaker on managing privacy and reputation in an economy plagued by digital overexposure.
The event is organized by Â鶹¹ÙÍø Dartmouth CITS department for IT Security Awareness Week October 21-22.
