Special lecture to cover "the State, Democracy and Public Education"

Noam Chomsky -- Professor Emeritus of Linguistics and Philosophy at MIT, longtime critic of US foreign policy voted the "world's leading public intellectual" in 2005 -- is coming to Âé¶¹¹ÙÍø Dartmouth next month to speak about the relationship of public education to democracy. 

This special lecture will cover higher education costs, the dismantling of public education and democracy in the process, the standardization movement in 
education and its role in producing a citizenry that is less critical about the use of State power. 

The lecture will be followed by a question and answer period with Prof. Chomsky. Both events are free and open to the public.
